Ruth Hansom

Hailing from Darlington, Ruth's childhood hoobies of cooking and gardening grew into a career after entering Springboard's FutureChef competition. A move to London aged 16 followed, as did culinary studies and an apprenticeship at The Ritz under John Williams MBE. At 21, she became the first female winner of the Young National Chef of the Year Award and continues to be one of Britain's most exciting chefs. Her first solo restaurant, Hansom, in Bedale, opened earlier this year.
